Description of Project:

Kakri Opencast Project lies in UP Block of Singrauli Coalfield, Dist. - Sonbhadra, UP. It is located in the north of existing Bina Extn. OCP of Northern Coalfields Limited. The feasibility report of Kakri Opencast Project for a rated capacity of 2.50 Mtpa at an average stripping ratio of 2.25 m³/t in 1979, the box cut was made in 1980-81 and coal production started in 1982-83.

Kakri OCP obtained Environmental Clearance for 2.50 Mtpa production in 1989. The project further obtained EC for revised production of 3.00 Mtpa in 2005 and that for 4.00 Mtpa in 2007. Mining is done in 3 seams namely Pureva Top, Pureva Bottom and Turra. While coal is extracted with the help of Diesel Hydraulic Shovel - Dumper combination, OB removal is being done with the help of Electric Rope Shovel – Dumper combination.

Welfare & CSR Activities :

2012-13 Construction of bitumen road from primary school Ranhore School to MP Border (2.5 KM approx) at Ranhore Panchayat.
Providing 50 hand pump at different villages Ranhore, Auri, Rehta, Kuldomri, Lojahara, Kakri, Parasi, Bansi, Garbandha, Anpara gram Panchayat.
2013-14 Construction of Sulabh Shauchalaya complex at Auri More including water supply arrangement to the complex.
Construction of check dam for irrigation purpose at Ranhore Village.
Medical camp for diabetic detection, general health check up for men/women & distribution of medicines (Quarterly).
2014-15 Construction of 246 toilets in Satna district (Madhya Pradesh) under the ‘Swachha Vidyalaya Abhiyan.‘
Tailoring and embroidery trining for rural women.
Supply of water through tankers in identified villages around operational area of NCL.
13 no portable water supply by :- a) Installation of RO through pipeline in villages around operational area of NCL b) b) Electrical overhead line for operation of RO plant
