INTRODUCTION: Block-B Project is situated in Singrauli District of Madhya Pradesh. Block-B Project covers Gorbi-B, Gorbi-C and Vindhya Sub-Block. Gorbi-B & Gorbi-C are located on the north of Vindhya Sub-Block and Moher Block is on the south of Block-B. Its elevation is about about 375 mtrs. To 512 mtrs. above the MSL. It is located between the latitude - 23 ° 47 ’ and 24 ° 12 ’ North and longitude - 81 ° 48 ’ and 82 ° 52 ’ East.
COMMUNICATION: Project is connected with Gorbi Open-Cast Mine about 05 km fair weather road. Nearest Railway Station is Mahdeiya on Katni-Chopan Branch Line of East-Central Railway.
LIFE: The life of the project is 27 years with production rate of 3.5 MTPA excluding 02 years construction period. The Block-B Project was cleared by IMG in Nov. 2004 with a Capital Investment of ₹ 706.15 Cr. Subsequently re-casted Capital Investment of ₹ 753.25 Cr. EMP was cleared in May 2005. Recast Project Report (RPR) of Block-B OCP, NCL (Normative Capacity – 3.50 Mtpa, Peak Capacity – 4.375 Mtpa) for a Capital Investment of ₹ 535.10 Cr. , Base Date – July 2010.

- Water treatment is done by using process like Aeration, Flocculation Coagulation using Lime, Alum, Sedimentation, Rapid Sand Filter and Disinfection using Chlorine in form of Bleaching Powder.
- Use by workers for marriage and other functions.
- Facilities like utensils for catering, chairs, table etc. are provided to support them.
- Recreational facilities like Badminton Court, Table Tennis, Carom, Chess and all other sports equipment are available.
- One Canteen facility is provided to the workers in mining area.
- Presently a branch of SBI, Madhyanchal Gramin Bank and Post Office each is running in campus.
- One SBI ATM is also available for employees.
- There are 01 Gov. Higher Secondary and 01 Govt. Primary school running. Apart from this 01 Shishu Mandir and 01 ECI school is also running.

Digital literacy training program was organized on 07/06/2017 in Block-B project of NCL. Digital payments were organized for the purpose of promotion. In this training program, people have made awareness about the use of various card based digital payment system including UPI, USSD, Bhim Mobile, Valet, Card Payments. The program was leveraged by nearly 50 people, including Block-B officials, employees, vendors, contractors, contract workers, local rural youths. In the program participants were given the benefits of digital payment and appealed to them, it is better that they use digital payments instead of cash in their daily activities. Representatives of the Common Service Center (CSC), an organization working under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, gave information about digital payments to the trainees in this training program. Also, the video clip of Digital India program being run by the Indian government was also shown to the trainees so that they could know the importance of digital payment. Information about various Government schemes like various digital schemes, such as digital business, of the government was also given on this occasion. Officers and staff of CSC's District Manager and Block-B project played an important role in organizing and completing the training program.
The world Environment Day is celebrated on Fifth june of every year. On this occasion at Block-B project first of all Flag hosting and oath for save environment was taken place after that distribution of plants was carried out and then there are different kind of Environment awareness program was conducted like Rangoli competition, Paper Bag formation for the replacement of Polythene bags and Drawing competition for save and protect of natural resources and environment by the involvement of Kalyani Mahila Mandal of Block-B Project NCL.
